Hi, I’m Ashley Z.

This brand started during a season when I was feeling completely burnt out from my corporate fashion job. I still loved design, but spending all day creating through a screen for my 9–5 left me craving something more hands-on. I needed a creative outlet that would reignite the passion that made me fall in love with fashion in the first place.

Growing up, softball was a huge part of my life. In fact, I was supposed to play in college. But two weeks before school started, I made the scary decision to walk away from that path and follow my dream of working in the fashion industry instead. It was one of the hardest choices I've ever made, but I don't regret it for a second.

Even so, I missed the game. I missed the energy, the community, and the memories tied to sports. So I decided to combine my two biggest passions sports and fashion and that's how AZ Upcycled Studio was born.

What started as a fun creative project quickly became something much bigger. I fell in love with transforming garments into one-of-a-kind pieces and creating designs that make people excited to get dressed. There's nothing better than seeing someone connect with a piece and make it their own.

At the heart of it all is my faith. Every talent, idea, and opportunity behind this brand comes from God, and He deserves all the credit. Right now, it's just Him, me, and my sewing machines building this dream one garment at a time.

I thank Him every day for giving me purpose and the opportunity to create for others. My hope is that every piece that leaves my studio serves as a reminder that you are special, unique, and created for a reason.

You were made differently on purpose. You were created with intention. You are meant for so much more than you can imagine.
